I didn't set out to be a web copywriter, honest, mister. But somehow I fell into a temp job that became full-time work, babysitting the content for an international nonprofit organization's site. I've done print editing (for movie magazines and, um, other publications) and gift catalogs, and lately I've also been blogging (who hasn't?) as a good ol' creative outlet.

When I am Copyeditor General

After many, many hours (okay, years) of getting riled up about poor use of language, typos in menus, grammatically incorrect signage, I've started a blog/therapeutic ranting space called When I am Copyeditor General.

Why the title?

I've always thought there should be a federally appointed guardian of language; perhaps not with the zeal of the Académie française, but certainly spirited enough to call out organization

I loved England. Went over the last time just as the mad cow scare was debunked by the Health Minister of the EU as a German/French plot to depress the British beef industry - 1996, maybe? Anyway, the band completely cleaned the pub in Nottingham out of 19 oz steaks when the ban was lifted (we were from Texas).

Your website is great. I agree about the Cadbury.
I used to play over there .. from Whitley Bay to London and Dover ... Torquay ... Ilfracombe ... Nottingham ... Leeds ... Whitehaven .... The Cadbury's over here is not even close (neither's the beer!).
