In-house and agency copywriter for AGES (one college class was in setting type by hand!) in Kansas City, St. Louis and now Chicago. I worked for the American Medical Association for the past 5 years and am now lving woking for Discover Card. Times Square Jumbotrons, greeting card/gift cards, plus a ton of statement inserts and acquisition pieces.

I work in the marketing department of a large financial services company and I often write statement inserts, newsletters, ads and other direct mail pieces that have some sort of photo or graphic element.


My headlines and copy are given to a designer to lay out. It's important that copy and design work hand in hand and that the designer can do something creatively with headlines. Two WWIT (what will it take) letters to Cardmembers at 3 months LOM (length of membership).

Go to the gym at lunch.

Finish revisions for two variations of newsletters/statement inserts plus guidelines for the BPs (business partners). Check when they are due to designers.

Thank you for the compliment. I am a strong person and I have fought for that strength. It has been a hard but eventful life. I have been encouraged to write about it but it would have to be several books as no one would believe just one.
