Long-time direct response copywriter, hack guitar player who won't quit, father with pictures in wallet, and a half-year inhabitant of Paris, France (the rest of the year we spend Stateside).
I specialize in informaiton products, mostly in the financial advisory area, but have written for health and supplements, small businesses, non-profits. Also, I have considerable background in individual and seminar training for new writers, travel writing, and graphic design.
Hey, by the way, be sure to check out some of the videos posted here. It's a small collection right now, but interesting stuff if you're the type that likes to think about creativity and market psychology.
Hey there... nope, that John Forde isn't this John Forde. Irony of ironies, his usual gig is as a critic of advertising while mine is to be a creator of it. I have, however, swapped emails with him about that. Seems like a nice guy.

I found him http://www.mentalengineering.com/clm_images/JohnForde.jpg. I don't think he's you, because he is effusive and you are reserved.
Comprenez-vous assez bien le Francais, Jacques?
I better git back to work. Bis naechstes mal. Stop by my page if you happen to be in the neighborhood, friends.

Earlier I saw some Youtube videos with a Jack Forde in them. One of them with Charlie Rose. One defining corporations. Now I see your picture I want to go back and compare to see if it's you. But the search on Google Video gives no result. Was that you? You have the lincques for the vids, if "yes"?
Thank you for creating this site, btw. I guess. Maybe it's too soon to know if there is anything to thank you for. So far I've spent about 25 minutes here, and no way I can clock that to productive time. Trying to be humorous and serious at the same time. Whichever is your style (h. or s.) you'll see the comments in that light, yes?
Hi Al, Good question... and here's the funny part. I don't really think there's a good answer! The "friend" feature is, of course, one of the decorations of the whole "social networking" trend. One invites someone to be a "friend," and the friend accepts.
Me, I like people, so I pretty much accept all the invites. After all, who couldn't always use a few more friends, right? But, I'll be honest, someone who's not officially in my friend network has just an open invite to connect with me as somebody who is.
So I've never had much of an opinion one way or the other about things like "linked in" or "myspace" etc. What I do like about these sites is simply that they give us a free forum to post questions, talk, etc. The "friend" thing I think is just a little something extra.
Does it have any implications other than that? No, not really.
I didn't know where else to find this ... so I'm turning to our "Grand Poo-bah", our Illustrious Leader, the one who started it all ... (can you tell I'm really hoping for a reply? heh, heh)
What's all this "friend" stuff? Yes, I DO have a friend or two "out there" (heh, heh - some of them are VERY "out there") ... but what does it involve, here in our Forum?
My daughter lives just down from the art museum in Philadelphia. A great place if you are into cultural events and tons of people. Watch out for the traffic.
She works at the Rittenhouse hotel in sales. Wouldn't that be a great place to write copy? Although their ads seem to be just a name and a logo.

Thanks for your help, Mr. Forde.
