About Me:
I am one of those people that never seemed to find my niche while all the while I was delving in it as a hobby of sorts. I have always written, it may have only been a haphazard journal or as a form of therapy, but, I wrote.

A friend discovered some of my old notebooks one day while helping me clean out an 18 wheeler that I had driven for 3 years. He snuck one home and showed it to his wife. She typed up some of the stories about a woman on the road alone for weeks at a time and submitted them to trucker's magazines. It wasn't long and I found myself contributing articles for three publications.

Six months after the first one was printed I was asked to create feature articles for one. It involved interviewing other women drivers and writing about them.

In January of 2006, I founded and acted as Editor, Writer, Advertising and all around news woman for a community paper that was supported solely by advertising and making a profit.

I became seriously ill in 2003 and am now 85% home-bound. I am also, for the most part, mute. I started InspiredWordArt.com in 2004 and it was doing well until my illness took over my life. The problem was finally diagnosed and I am much better now. However, 13 strokes have left me a bit weak.

These things have only made a fuller library of things to write about and my writing stronger. I work on an average of 14 hours a day now trying to promote this business. I welcome any work or suggestions.

Helping Each Other

Just out of curiosity, well that isn't exactly true, I just want to know and maybe even take advantage of or help someone else at some point. Are you aware of any situations here at The Copywriter's Roundtable where a member helped another member out with either work or mentoring?

Would you also tell me about it. I really like networking sites that network and work.

Your Niche

Mandy asked what our niches were. I am curious as to what your styles are and what feedback you have gotten in regards to it.

I am a conversationalist, (as I call it) I talk to my readers as though they were sitting in front of me.

I have been told that I do it too much and that I use to many real life examples in my how-to work. For example; I wrote an eBook on overcoming a lack of self confidence called 'Head Held High'. Although it is said that I am too wordy it has also bee… Continue

My first Post

This is my first post here on The Copywriter's Roundtable.

For the most part I want to blog here about my experiences as a freelance writer and post some of my articles and links. But, I thought that for a first post I would share this humorous post about emails that I receive on profile pages and the strange ways of men. I hope that you enjoy it.

Nancy;

Thank you for the compliment. I am a strong person and I have fought for that strength. It has been a hard but eventful life. I have been encouraged to write about it but it would have to be several books as no one would believe just one.

You might enjoy one of my stories on soulcast.com. Here is the url if you are interested: http://www.soulcast.com/post/show/65933/Miracle-Mountain

I would be interested to know more about card writing. I have not found much information on it. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Janet. the trucker articles sound like you have a unique perspective to offer. Maybe you might want to think about writing greeting cards as well. I've written for several card companies and it's easy to find inspiration. I'd keep spiral bound index cards with me to jot down ideas, or things I'd overhear. Writer's market would show what companies you might want to submit to, and there is sometimes a submissions agreement form you have to fill out.

THIRTEEN STROKES! You are a woman of incredible strength.
